Admiralty (Tamar Street) (金鐘 (添馬街), Citybus Location Code TAS) bus stop，located on Tamar Street, Admiralty, Central and Western District, Hong Kong Island, Outside Block 1 of the Lippo Centre, on the western Roadside Bay between Queensway and Drake Street, opposite Admiralty Gardens. It is a Roadside Bus Terminus.
This stop is one of the four bus termini above MTR Admiralty Station. It is adjacent to Exit B of the station. It is currently the terminus of the Citybus Mid-levels Routes, and a midway stop on several Resident Bus routes.
The Transport Department's resident bus stop sign is named "Tamar Street Lippo Centre"; Citybus once called this stop "Lippo Centre".
History[]
Tamar Street is one of the streets in Admiralty, named after the British Royal Navy warship HMS Tamar and gazetted in 28 November, 1980.[1]
The first franchised bus route to use this stop is CMB Route 10X, which ends here. Subsequently, Route 12A was re-operated by Citybus in 11 September, 1991. Both return journeys detoured through Tamar Street to facilitate MacDonnell Road residents to access the MTR, and there is a Section Fare from this stop to the Old Macau Ferry Pier.
11 April, 1994, the terminus of Citybus Route 12M was moved from Admiralty (West) to this stop; On 30 June, 1994, the terminus of Route 12A also moved from Central Connaught Road Central to this stop.[2]
On 14 August, 2022, Citybus Route 12 will modify its routing. After the morning peak hours from Monday to Friday, all round trips on weekends and holidays will bypass this stop. The NWFB Route 13 will also be extended to this stop from the same day.
