Major incidents

• 1998: A serious double-decker bus overturning accident happened at Wan Chai North Flyover at 9:40am that day, killing 5 and injuring 54. The Citybus with the fleet number 870 was operating on Route 118 towards Sham Shui Po, and was travelling along Gloucester Road up onto Wan Chai North Flyover when the bus overturned at the bend off Sun Hung Kai Centre towards Gloucester Road as a result of suspected speeding. At least 3 passengers were thrown off the bus and further off the flyover.

Route introductions

• 1994: KCR Bus routes K1X and K2X entered service.
• 1999: LWB Route A43 entered service.

Route changes

• 1977: The terminus of KMB Route 34 was relocated from Kwai Shing (South) to Kwai Shing (Central); the terminus of KMB Route 37 was extended from Kwai Shing (East) to Kwai Shing (Central).
• 2000: NWFB routes 82, 83, 84M, Citybus routes 8X, N8X, A12, 314, 780, as well as Cross-Harbour Bus Routes 118, N118, 606, 694 and 802 towards Siu Sai Wan were rerouted via the new section of Chai Wan Road in lieu of Wing Tai Road, Ka Yip Street and Sheung On Street.
