Major events/incidents[]

  • 1999: A traffic accident occured at Lung Mun Road in Tuen Mun, where a Volvo Olympian 11m double-decker bus (S3V2) on KMB Route 59X crashed onto a concrete truck parking on the roadside, causing a 4-vehicle collision. The front end of the bus was severely damaged and 29 people also sustained injuries.

Route introductions[]

  • 1986: KMB Route 71K entered service.
  • 1987: KMB Route 85K entered service.
  • 1991: Residents’ Bus Route K22R entered service.
  • 2004: KMB Route 69B and second generation KMB Route 268B entered service.
  • 2010: New Territories GMB Route 15P entered service.

Route cancellations[]

  • 1992: KCR Bus Route 559 ceased service.

Route changes[]

  • 1997: CMB Route A20 detoured via Central Ferry Piers for Central (Exchange Square) direction.
  • 1998: Citybus routes E11, E21 and E22 no longer detoured via Tung Chung Ferry Pier.
  • 2004: KMB Route 269B was changed to provide service only during peak hours and rerouted via Yuen Long Highway in lieu of Yuen Long Town.
  • 2009: Short-working trips to HKUST on KMB Route 91M no longer served Shun Lee Estate.
  • 2013: The termini of Citybus routes A10 and 95C were relocated from Mei Hong Court South Horizons back to Ap Lei Chau Estate.
