Special traffic accidents[]

  • 2010: The collapse of an old building at 45J Ma Tau Wai Road in Kowloon City led to the closure of the road between Pak Kung Street and Bailey Street. Multiple bus routes were diverted and had their pick up and drop off points relocated for several monthd.   • 1991: KMB Route 281S entered service.
  • 2003: Hong Kong Island GMB Route 69 entered service.
  • 2018: Citybus Route A26 entered service.

Route cancellations[]

  • 1991: KMB Route 288S ceased service.
  • 2006: Citybus Route N62R ceased service.

Route changes[]

  • 1983: The Tai Yuen terminus of KMB routes 72M and 74A were relocated to the access road inside Tai Yuen Estate.
  • 1988: New Territories green minibus routes underwent a major renumbering: Route 11 was renumbered as 53K; Route 12K was renumbered as 54K; Route 16 was renumbered as 57K; Route 17 was renumbered as 58K; Route 18S was renumbered as 58S; Route 19 was renumbered as 59K; Route 50 was renumbered as 50K; Route 51 was renumbered as 51K; Route 55 was renumbered as 55K
  • 1995: The circular point of KMB Route 8A was changed to Star Ferry Bus Terminus.
  • 2001: Cross-Harbour Bus Route 681P began detouring via Kam Tai Court.
  • 2004: KCR Bus routes K2P and K76 were changed to paid services.
  • 2006: The terminus of KMB Route N43 was extended from Mayfair Gardens to Cheung Wang.
  • 2011: The terminus of NWFB Route H1 was relocated from Pokfield Road to HKU East Gate with the routing adjusted; the terminus of first generation NWFB Route H2 was relocated from Happy Valley Racecourse to Lee Theatre Plaza with the routing adjusted.
  • 2023: New Territories GMB Route 901 additionally detoured via CAD Headquarters, no longer serving Catering Road East, AsiaWorld-Expo and Sky City Road East.
  • 2024: The evening special services detouring via Sky City Road East on Citybus routes A26, A28 and A29 were rerouted via Airport Road, Sky City Road, Airport Expo Boulevard and Sky City Road East after Cheong Lin Road before resuming the original routing at Chek Lap Kok Road.
