Route Openings[]

  • 1976: KMB Routes 209, 210 and CMB Route 17 (3rd generation) entered service.
  • 1982: In conjunction with the opening of the Aberdeen Tunnel, China Motor Bus Routes 70, 75, and 79M entered service.
  • 1983: New Territories GMB Route 94 entered service.
  • 1993: KMB Route 258D, KMB Route 269B (First Generation) and Cross-Harbour Route 641 entered service.
  • 1996: KMB Route 278P (1st generation) entered service.
  • 2001: NLB Route 38 entered service.
  • 2010: Hong Kong Island GMB Route 59B entered service.
  • 2017: Crystal Bus entered service.
  • 2020: New Territories GMB Routes 621, 622, and 623 entered service.

Route Cancellations[]

  • 1982: KMB Route 70M (1st generation) ceased service.

Route Adjustments[]

  • 1982: In conjunction with the earlier opening of the Aberdeen Tunnel:
    • CMB Routes 38, 72, 90M and Cross-Harbour Bus Route 170 were diverted via Aberdeen Tunnel;
    • The terminus of CMB Route 7 was moved from Aberdeen to Shek Pai Wan;
    • The terminus of CMB Route 71 was moved from Central terminus to Cleverly Street;
    • CMB Route 76 was rerouted via Stubbs Road instead of Blue Pool Road, Happy Valley;
    • Hong Kong Island GMB Routes 4 and 35 were rerouted via the tunnel during the tunnel opening hours in lieu of Nam Fung Road.
  • 1982: CMB Route 95 was changed to a circular route.
  • 1993: Cross-Harbour Bus Route 141 was renumbered as 641, passing through the Eastern Harbour Crossing and Island Eastern Corridor, and the terminus was moved from Kwun Tong (Yan Oi Circuit) to Kai Yip.
  • 2010: KMB Route 237A was detoured via Kwai Chung Estate and omitted Mei Foo, Cheung Sha Wan and Sham Shui Po, taking Kwai Chung Road and West Kowloon Corridor heading directly to Mong Kok.
  • 2021: A morning service of KMB Route 290B from Tsuen Wan West Station to Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate was introduced. At the same time, both directions were detoured via the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy.
