  • 1983: Single-decker buses, minibus and the lower deck compartments of double-decker buses are designated as no-smoking areas.

Route introductions[]

  • 1985: New Territories GMB Route 66K entered service.
  • 1987: New Territories GMB Route 88S entered service.
  • 1988: KMB routes 41M and 43B entered service.
  • 1991: KMB routes 6S, 26S, and first generation KMB Route 85S entered service.
  • 1993: KMB Route 66P entered service.
  • 1999: NWFB routes 2S, 18S, 38S, Citybus routes 310, 377 and 380 provided the only services on that night.
  • 2011: New Territories GMB Route 112S entered service.
  • 2012: KMB Route 91P entered service.

Route cancellations[]

  • 1975: First generation KMB Route 80 ceased service.
  • 2003: First generation New Territories GMB Route 806M ceased service.
  • 2016: KMB Route 15P ceased service.

Route changes[]

  • 1970:
    • The Yuen Long termini of KMB routes 16 and 24 were relocated to the newly-opened Yuen Long (East) Bus Terminus (now Yuen Long (Fung Cheung Road) Bus Terminus).
    • The Yuen Long termini of KMB routes 17, 18, 18A, 23 and 26 were relocated to the newly-completed Yuen Long (West) Bus Terminus (now Yuen Long Police Station bus stop).
  • 1975: KMB Route 82 was changed to operate between Luen Wo Hui and Man Kam To.
  • 1980: Trial 24-hour service on Hong Kong Island GMB Route 5 was implemented.
  • 1981: The terminus of Cross-Harbour Bus Route 111 was relocated from Cleverly Street to Central (Macau Ferry).
  • 1985:
    • The termini of KMB routes 72B and 74A were relocated from Tai Yuen to Tai Po Central.
    • The termini of New Territories GMB Route 65K and KMB Route 82K were relocated to Fo Tan KCR Station.
