Route introductions

• 1999: KMB routes 261R and N270 entered service.
• 2011: New Territories GMB Route 112M and Residents’ Bus Route NR966 entered service.
• 2017: KMB Route N283 entered service.
• 2020: Citybus Route 22M and New Territories GMB Route 68S entered service.

Route cancellations

• 1977: First generation Hong Kong Island GMB Route 7 ceased service.
• 1994: CMB routes 82A and 525 ceased service.
• 1995: KMB Route A8 ceased service.
• 2018: Residents’ Bus Route NR95 ceased service.

Route changes

• 1977:
  • Trips after morning peak hours on Hong Kong Island GMB Route 6 were extended to Ocean Park.
  • First generation Hong Kong Island GMB Route 8 was renumbered as 7.
• 1999:
  • KMB Route N293 and Cross-Harbour Bus Route N691 were extended from Hang Hau (North) to Sheung Tak, with both bounds additonally observing Chiu Shun Road, Wan Po Road, Po Shun Road and Tong Ming Street.
  • KMB Route N271 was also rerouted via Shatin Central Bus Terminus for Hung Hom KCR Station direction.
• 2011: The starting point for KMB Route 261P was relocated from Chi Lok Fa Yuen to Ng Lau Road (Tsing Lun Road), omitting the section between Chi Lok Fa Yuen and Fu Tai Estate.
• 2020: KMB Route 5A was extended to Kai Tak (Kai Ching Estate) and upgraded to a whole-day service on weekdays with service hour extensions on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
• 2022: Circular operation on MTR Bus Route 506 was cancelled.
