Route openings

• 1984: KMB Route 13E entered service.
• 1987: Kowloon GMB Route 52 entered service.
• 1995: KCR Bus Route 916R entered service.
• 2003: Hong Kong Island GMB Route 59A entered service.
• 2017: KMB Route 47A entered service.

Route cancellations

• 1984: First generation CMB Route 5M and CMB Route 24M ceased service.

Route changes

• 1966: The terminus of KMB Route 34 was relocated ro Sha Tsui Road near Pak Tin Pa Street.
• 1984:
  • CMB Route 5C was extended from Central to Kennedy Town.
  • KMB Route 81K was extended from Pok Hong to Sun Tin Wai.
• 2003: Special services on Hong Kong Island GMB Route 58 between Kennedy Town (North Street) and Tin Wan Estate, as well as between Tin Wan Estate and Aberdeen (Wu Nam Street) were cancelled; the terminus of Route 59 was relocated from Sandy Bay to West Point (North Street) and detoured via Tin Chak House for the whole day.
• 2011: KMB Route 261 was rerouted via Tuen Hing Road and Castle Peak Road - Castle Peak Bay in lieu of Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and Pui To Road.
• 2016: All trips on NLB Route 34 for both directions detoured vis Chek Lap Kok New Village, except for the 07:55 departure from Shek Mun Kap on weekdays.
• 2017:
  • The Tsuen Wan terminus of KMB Route 40 was relocated from Tsuen Wan (Nina Tower) to Tsuen Wan (Belvedere Garden).
  • Special service from Shui Chuen O on KMB Route 47X ceased service.
• 2023:
  • The weekday morning special service from Sheung Tsuen on KMB Route 51 was cancelled.
  • Citybus Route A12 was rerouted via Central - Wan Chai Bypass for both directions, omitting Central and Wan Chai.
